Dining at Greenhorn Ranch is a communal experience. Meals are served in a central dining hall, with buffet-style offerings that include hearty American breakfasts — think eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and specialty coffees. Lunch dishes highlight healthful salads, such as Caesar, Southwest with black beans, and the Chef’s signature arugula salad topped with candied walnuts and goat cheese, all drizzled with lemon-basil dressing. Dinner options often feature mushroom ravioli, salmon with pesto served alongside baked cauliflower, and an array of meat choices like chicken or beef, accompanied by rice or potatoes. The diverse menu caters to all tastes and dietary needs, allowing guests to unwind and enjoy the serenity of the mountain surroundings.
One of the most notable aspects of Greenhorn Ranch is its genuine hospitality. From the moment visitors arrive, they are greeted with warmth and friendliness, making them feel like part of the family. Staff members often go above and beyond, with some offering guided tours led by the owner himself, who shares captivating stories about the ranch’s rich history and the deep roots it has in the local community.
The ranch’s history is rich with stories, including that of a former owner—a legendary figure in the area who was known to host Hollywood icon Cary Grant and his daughter. Sharing tales of Hollywood glamour, enjoying meals together, and learning about the ranch’s past add a heartfelt dimension to the experience that guests cherish.
Activities on the ranch are diverse and catered to all interests.

Adventure seekers can try their hand at archery in the forested mountains, where targets are set among the trees, offering a fun way to focus and enjoy the crisp mountain air with sweeping vistas all around. Just outside the main grounds, groups can also take part in skeet shooting, guided by experienced instructors—firing shotguns at flying clay targets in an outdoor setting that’s both challenging and exhilarating.

Horseback riding is a favorite pastime at Greenhorn Ranch. Visitors can choose private or group rides along scenic mountain trails or simply observe the horses’ daily routines. The bond formed with these majestic animals leaves a lasting impression, enriching the connection to nature and the ranch’s roots.

For moments of tranquility, families and outdoor enthusiasts enjoy fishing in the large, pristine pond or exploring mountain biking trails that wind through rugged landscape. Children often love participating in arts and crafts, especially leather working, which is one of the signature activities.
