Los Angeles (Perfect Travel Today) 5\/6\/18\/–The Orthopedic Institute for Children™\u00a0 celebrated its annual 2018 Stand for Kids Gala on Saturday June 2, 2018 in Santa Monica at the Museum of Flying.<\/p>\n

Hosting the evening Master of Ceremonies Emmy & Golden Globe Nominated performer Matthew Morrison and Debby Ryan young actress in television from\u00a0 her roles in \u201cCover Versions\u201d, and \u201cJessie\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Gala started at 6pm with a long blue carpet where celebrity &\u00a0 board members took stage before the gala. Guests of the “blue carpet were greeted\u00a0 by Pan Am like stewardess who later were serving\u00a0 ” pre flight martini’s ” at the gala reception.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The famous UCLA\u00a0 philanthropist surprise of the night Meyer Luskin who originally pledged a $25,000 donation instead reversed his donation and upped his donation for 2018 to 1 million dollars to Orthopaedic Institute for Children ;<\/p>\n

The philanthropist Mr Meyer Luskin CEO\u00a0 of Scope has been one of the largest donors to UCLA with past donations of $100 million dollars to UCLA\u00a0 to build residential conference centre and faculty club and of that\u00a0$50 million to UCLA school of Public Affairs.<\/p>\n

Guests were in awe and the host Mathew Morrison was also a little\u00a0 thanking Mr.Luskin gratefully for the Orthopedic Institute for Children behalf;<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

At the gala Harry McKellop, Ph.D was honored with Lifetime Achievement Award for his prolific work which has resulted in 12 patents to date on novel methods to reduce polyethylene wear in orthopedic implants.\u00a0As a Professor and mentor, he has touched the lives of countless orthopedic fellows, residents and volunteer student workers who spent time in his labs over the past three decades<\/p>\n

The Automobile Club of Southern California was honored with corporate pinnacle award they have been a supporter of the children served by OIC for 40 years.<\/p>\n

UCLA Health was also honored with the Power of Partnership Award for their 20-year anniversary of the alliance between UCLA and OIC. The unique partnership between UCLA and OIC creates a platform for unparalleled contributions to patient care and scientific discovery in orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine.<\/p>\n

Guests enjoyed international food from the Mediterranean destinations serving spinach ravioli and rigatoni pasta dishes ; salads dressed with goat cheese and balsamic dressing ; other Mediterranean dishes grilled lamb and chicken skewers with falafel traditional hummus, eggplant dip and chopped salads , Asian food bar , with shrimp balls , Thai noodles and broccoli and beef , Mexican food station with guacamole chips and tamales -dessert stations filled with brownies fruit lemon tarts and home made style apple cobler with ice cream .<\/p>\n
