\u00a0<\/b>VENTURA, CA(Perfect Travel Today) 1\/6\/15\/–<\/b>\u00a0Tall Ships, Hawaiian Chieftain <\/i>and Lady Washington<\/i>,commence their annual voyage along the California coast and sail into Ventura Harbor on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 and remain through Wednesday, February 4, 2015. The historical vessels will dock in front of Brophy Brothers Restaurant & Clam Bar and Milano\u2019s Italian Restaurant in the Ventura Harbor Village.<\/p>\n

Catch the mystical sight of the Tall Ships during the grand arrival in the afternoon on January 13, 2014.\u00a0 A photographer\u2019s delight, the ships depart for Battle Sails January 17 & 18, 24 & 25, and January 31 & February 1 out of the Harbor at 2 PM and return between 4:30 \u2013 5 PM.\u00a0 The best viewing locations are at HarborCoveBeach, Channel IslandsNationalParkVisitorCenter and VenturaHarborVillage.<\/p>\n

Open to the public from January 14, the Tall Ship Dockside Tours are offer a living history experience (Wednesdays-Fridays) from 4 PM \u2013 5 PM and Saturday (2 ships) and Sunday (1 ship) from 10 AM \u2013 1 PM; PLUS OPEN for Dockside Tours on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Monday, January 19 and Tuesday, February 3.\u00a0 Dockside tours focus on an authentic 18th<\/sup>-century sailor\u2019s view of traveling by tall ship, as well as a chance to meet the ship\u2019s crew and learn what it took to adventure to new lands.\u00a0 Take a Dockside Tour* and dine for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at one of the Ventura Harbor Village\u2019s seaside restaurants overlooking the Tall Ships and the boats.Also, enjoy live entertainment along the promenadeon Sundays-January 18 and 25 and February1. *Note: Only Lady Washington will be available for Dockside Tours on February 3 and 4.<\/p>\n

Looking for more adventure?\u00a0 Three-Hour Battle Sails or Two-Hour Adventure Sails complete with firing cannons and hoisting of the main sails are just the ticket!\u00a0 Battle Sails feature a recreation of a naval skirmish with close quarters maneuvers and are available Saturdays & Sundays,January 17 & 18, 24 & 25, and January 31 & February 1, 2 PM \u2013 5 PM.\u00a0 Adventure Sails take place on Sundays, January 18, 19 & 25 and February 1, 11 AM \u2013 1 PM out in the channel to experience life on the high seas.<\/p>\n

Hawaiian Chieftain was built in Hawaii in 1988 and originally designed for cargo trade among the Hawaiian Islands. Launched in 1989, Lady Washington is a full-scale reproduction of the original Lady Washington, which was built in 1750s and was one of the first U.S. \u2013 flagged ships to explore the west coast of North America.<\/p>\n

The Hawaiian Chieftain and Lady Washington travel down the West Coast stopping in ports and harbors for historical and educational visits.\u00a0 These ships host over 8,000 school children a year.\u00a0 Educators should contact the Historical Seaport education office, 360-589-2299 to make arrangements for dockside or on the water programming while here in Ventura Harbor January 13- February 4, 2015.<\/p>\n
